Chamber President Davide Cucino and Vice President Jens Ruebbert presented Position Paper to European Commission President Barroso. Discussions focussed on China's current economic challenges, the upcoming EU-China Business Summit, and the development of China's private sector.
During the meeting with Commissioner Algirdas Semeta, DG TAXUD, Commissioner Semeta commented that he is pleased with the positive relationship the chamber has built with the General Affairs Council (GAC) and offered to support any industry key issues backed with case studies.
A Chamber delegation met with David O’Sullivan Chief Operation Officer of EU Diplomatic Corps, European External Actions Service. He said that the Position Paper adds value to the daily cooperation between Brussels and Beijing.
Chamber President Davide Cucino presented the Position Paper to Commissioner Oettinger, DG ENERGY. They discussed EU-China Exhibition on Urban Development in Novermber.
A Chamber delegation led by President Davide Cucino met with Commissioner Tonio Borg, DG SANCO. Following the presentation of the Position Paper, they discussed issues related to agriculture, food and beverage, healthcare equipment, paediatric nutrition and pharmaceuticals.
Chamber Vice President Mats Harborn presented the Position Paper to Director General Jean-Luc Demarty, DG TRADE.
The Aerospace Working Group (WG) representatives met with Mr. Matthew Baldwin, Director Aviation and International Transport Affairs at DG Move. Javier Vicedo, Chair of the Aersopace WG presented the Position Paper 2013/2014 to Director Baldwin.
Representatives of the Information & Security, Auto Components, Healthcare, Construction and Pharma WGs joined a Delegation led by Vice-President Stefan Sack to a working-level meeting with David Harmon, Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Maire Geoghegan-Quinn (DG RTD). The WG representatives shared WG issues related to R&D and innovation in general.
Samantha Northey, the Chair of Agriculture, Food and Beverage WG met Ms Strickland, Head of Unit, Unit G6 - Multilateral International Relation.
