Most organizations, be it private companies, NGO’s or even governments, now use social media as a marketing tool and communications platform. The legal risks and implications associated with social media are well established yet are often overlooked by marketing professionals. How many of you have read through the Terms and Conditions of Service of the social media sites that you have signed up to?
To tackle this important topic, we’re delighted to invite Rieko Michishita, Partner at Bird & Bird and Helen Xia, Senior Associate at Hogan Lovells. They will give a presentation on the common legal risks associated with social media and share with the group best practices on how to minimise these risks. Both Ms. Xia and Ms. Michishita have extensive experience in all major areas of intellectual property and this presentation will also include how to protect your own IP and that of others.
In order to get the most value from this presentation, you are strongly encouraged to send your areas of interest prior to the meeting. Whether you have questions relating to patents, copyright or trademarks the speakers will do their best to try and accommodate requests into the final presentation.
