Regional development strategy of “Five Function Zones” was brought up by Chongqing municipal government and CPC Chongqing municipal committee in September, 2013. With Urban Function Core Area, Urban Function Development Area, New City Development Area, Chongqing Northeast and Southeast Ecological Conservation Development Area as five function zones, a balanced development between rural and urban area will be achieved and resource allocation will be optimized in a larger spatial distribution and regional coverage. It aims to promote the core competence of Chongqing and build the municipality into a central city in western China.
2013 年9 月，重庆市委、市政府提出 “五大功能区”区域发展战略，划分了都市功能核心区、都市功能拓展区、城市发展新区、渝东北生态涵养发展区、渝东南生态保护发展区五个功能区域，以统筹区域城乡协调发展，在更大的空间格局和区域范围内优化资源配置，进一步提升重庆核心竞争力、加快建设西部中心城市。

Themes：The New Industrialization in New Urban Development Zones, Agricultural Modernization and Urban Landscape in a Liveable City
The third visit：Chongqing Northeast Ecological Conservation Development Area

Themes: Ecological Agriculture, Ecological Industry and Ecotourism
The fourth visit: Chongqing Southeast Ecological Conservation Development Area
