World Aids Day 2006 Raising HIV/Aids awareness in China
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to a seminar dedicated to support World Aids Day on the 1st December 2006. This seminar aims to contribute to the ongoing global efforts to raise HIV/Aids awareness by providing an overview of the current HIV/Aids situation in China ( UNAIDS) and the role of business in the fight against HIV/ Aids (Global Business Coalition against HIV/Aids). The EU Chamber is very pleased to welcome Academy Award nominee Director Robert Bilheimer to Beijing to screen his critically acclaimed documentary film ?A Closer Walk about the global AIDS epidemic . Mr. Bilheimer will be present at the screening and will answer questions about the making of the film. A Closer Walk " depicts the global realities of AIDS. The film conducts incisive interviews with individuals from all walks of life, including Bono and Kofi Annan, combined with stories, portraits and vignettes of children, women and men living with AIDS, and those caring for them on four continents. All of these elements are woven together in a film that is not only about a deadly infectious disease, but also about the human condition." Join the European Chamber in observing World AIDS Day 2006, by viewing this moving, thought provoking , and ultimately inspiring film, which raises the fundamental questions about our responsibilities to one another. The European Chamber would like to thank UNAIDS, the Swiss Chamber, Spanish Chamber and British Chamber for their support in organising this event.
