We are pleased to invite you for the upcoming Pharma Working Group meeting, which will take place on Wednesday 11th Dec., 2013 from 3pm at the European Chamber offices in Shanghai and Beijing with video conference facility.

15:00-15:10 Opening remark by the Chair
15:10-15:30 Presentation by RDPAC representative on the interpretation of NDRC’s policy on management of low price drugs and its influence to Pharma industry (tbc)
15:30-15:50 Presentation by Mr. Sandy Johnston, PwC Partner and China/Hong Kong Pharma & Life Sciences Lead, on: Preparing for Pharma Price Cuts.
The NDRC is likely to announce a wide range of additional price cuts across the board for pharmaceutical products. What should the Pharma industry response be, and what lessons are there from the response in other markets? Does the demonstration of value have a role to play, and how will innovation be rewarded in the future?
15:50-16:20 Q&A and discussion around ‘balance between price and quality’

Short Bio of Mr. Sandy Johnston, Partner, China/Hong Kong Pharma & Life Sciences Industry Sector Lead PwC China
Sandy Johnston is the sector leader for Pharma & Life Science practice in Consulting. He has over 20 years’ experience focused on the Life Sciences industry across a wide range of areas, including strategy, performance improvement and change management enabled by new technology. He has supported major Life Sciences companies tackle major transformation programs, helping them implement a wide range of solutions including new business models, driving portfolio changes, exploiting new technology, identifying new capability requirements and driving customer understanding across the value chain. He has led a number of major performance improvement across Life Sciences as well as cost reduction projects for many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.
