The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Pearl River Delta Chapter invites Members to meet with China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) South China Sub-Commission.
This meeting purpose is to continue the communication and cooperation between the Local Government and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Pearl River Delta Chapter, as a representative the European business in China and Guangdong Province in particular.
Recent regulation updates: CIETAC revised its Arbitration Rules in January 2012 in accordance with China’s Arbitration Law and the principles laid down in the relevant State Council’s Reply of 1988. Approved by CCPIT/CCOIC in February 2012, the new Arbitration Rules should come into force on May 1, 2012. As from May 1, 2012, the CIETAC Arbitration Rules (2012) shall uniformly apply to the CIETAC and its sub-commissions.

About CIETAC:
The China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) is permanent arbitration institutions. CIETAC independently and impartially resolves economic and trade disputes by means of arbitration.With its headquarters in Beijing, CIETAC also has sub-commissions in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing, respectively known as the CIETAC South China Sub-Commission, Shanghai Sub-Commission, Tianjin International Economic Financial Arbitration Center (Tianjin Sub-Commission) and Southwest Sub-Commission.
The aim of the CIETAC South China Sub-Commission office is "to conciliate foreign-related economic and trade disputes in the special zone and to take cognizance of arbitration application for the Foreign Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission. With the approval of the Arbitration Commission the arbitral tribunal could conduct proceedings in Shenzhen, and provide arbitration and legal consultancy services". The office is under the direct leadership of CCPIT in respect of its arbitration business and it is under the leadership of the Shenzhen Municipal Government in terms of personnel and administrative affairs.
