Dear Legal & Taxation WG Member,
I am delighted to invite you to our next Legal & Taxation Working Group meeting on Tuesday, 15th December.
At this meeting
Angus Hui, tax partner with KPMG, will highlight recent tax and regulatory developments, discuss economic changes and forthcoming regulations. The Working Group is an interactive platform and as always, the attendees are welcome to share experiences from their companies. Please feel free bringing along questionsand case studies to hand out to the participants for discussion. At this meeting we will also discuss and collect questions and case studies, which we are planning to present to the local tax authorities beginning 2010. Feel free to send upfront or give me a call if you have questions.
Example of a question that could be raised: In some areas of Guangzhou, Rep. Offices of Foreign Banks have in the past been asked to pay taxes, even though by law they do not have to, as they are not permitted to engage in revenue-generatingactivities.

About the Legal & Taxation Working Group
The L&T WG consistsmainly of practitioners from the legal advisory and auditing industries. The Working Group meets regularly to discuss new legislation or changes in legislation. During the Working Group meeting there may be an open discussion on a set topic, or a brief presentation and followed by Q&A/discussion.
