More and more companies are discovering that proactive environmental activities make significant contribution to profitability and competitiveness. In addition to reducing cost and avoiding regulatory risk, benefits are flowing from environmental initiatives that spur innovation, improve productivity, enhance brand image and even open new market opportunities.
As part of L’Oréal’s sustainability programme, Sharing Beauty With All, launched in 2013, the Group set itself a series of commitments towards 2020. They address all its impacts and engage its whole value chain – from product design to distribution, including the production process and the sourcing of raw materials. The commitments are organised into four pillars: innovating sustainably, producing sustainably, living sustainably and sharing growth with employees, suppliers and the communities with which L’Oréal interacts.
By 2020, 100% of L’Oréal’s products will have an improved environmental or social profile. The Group is promoting sustainable innovation by reducing the environmental footprint of its product formulas by sourcing raw materials in a sustainable way that respects biodiversity, optimising packaging and committing to zero deforestation.
