Position Paper 2010/2011 presented to Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome 

On 27th September, a delegation from the European Chamber, led by President Jacques de Boisséson, presented the 2010/2011 Position Paper in Rome to representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Confindustria (the Organization of Italian Companies), as well as Italian and Chinese media.

MAE Secretary General Ambassador Massolo and Confindustria Vice President Zegna warmly welcomed the European Chamber's President de Boisséson, Vice President Cucino, States Representative Perlo and Pearl River Delta Chapter Chairman Vettoretti.

They spoke highly of the annual Position Paper while highlighting the importance of the Chinese economy in spite of the challenges encountered when doing business in China by European companies, especially SMEs, that represent the backbone of Italian economy. Further, Ambassador Massimo Iannucci, the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to China, commented the European Chamber for its achievement while highlighting how crucial it is in fact for European countries to address China with a united approach in view of a sound and effective partnership.

President de Boisséson provided an overview on the Chamber's progress and activities with updates ensuing of the recent meetings in Brussels. Davide Cucino, Vice President of the European Chamber, followed with an extensive presentation of the 2010/2011 Position Paper, detailing issues of major concern and recommendations put forward by the Chamber's Working Groups.

The presentation ended in a lively Q&A session touching upon a variety of current issues including market access, IPR protection, currency revaluation and a joint European approach towards China.
