Meeting with China-Europe Water Resources Platform

On March 5, a delegation of the China-Europe Water Resources Platform of the International Economic and Technical Cooperation and Exchange Centre, Ministry of Water Resources, visited the European Chamber and held a heated discussion on China-EU water resources cooperation status quo and future plan.

European Chamber Secretary General Adam Dunnett welcomed the delegation from International Economic and Technical Cooperation and Exchange Centre, and introduced the basic situation and previous achievements of the chamber in water environment protection, and business cooperation demands.

Director-General (DG) Qiuchi Shi of the International Economic and Technical Cooperation and Exchange Centre introduced the meeting purpose was to facilitate the business development of China-EU water resources via the communication with the European Chamber, to understand the business development situation of European enterprises in China and the potential needs of technology, products and cooperation opportunities.

Environment Working Group National Chair Mr. Jet Chang welcomed and appreciated the visit of International Economic and Technical Cooperation and Exchange Centre, and introduced the basic information and cooperation focuses of European Chamber and Environment Working Group. He hoped member companies could share national experience in water resources management with Chinese government.

Former Chair Mr. Xiaojun Huang welcomed the coming of delegation and introduced the situation of European water related companies regarding industrial and municipal water utilization. He said, for water related companies, they were excited and interested to join in the China Europe Water Platform (CEWP), to serve as a bridge between the government and community, to deepen water business cooperation.

In the end, DG Shi hoped to deepen the cooperation and communication with European Chamber and member companies, especially hope the Chamber to serve as a bridge between Chinese government and European companies. She thanked for the opportunity to have a deep discussion with European companies, and the Centre would to more research and investigation on the issues raised by member companies.
