Dialogue with Shanghai Customs on Updated Regulation on Customs Audit

In the seminar, officials from Division of Post-clearance Audit, Shanghai Customs, firstly explained the purpose of this amendment is to keep consistency with the higher Customs Law. Comparison between previous version and the new articles was given.

Ms. Bin Fang, Section Chief of Post-clearance Audit, emphasized the articles that may impact companies' import and export operations. Mr. Yao Weidong, Director of Division of Post-clearance Audit, specifically responded to members' questions on royalty, voluntary disclosure, companies' responsibilities and rights, third-party audit. According to Shanghai Customs, more detailed implementing rules are currently being drafted internally at GAC and are expected to be released shortly after the Regulation takes effect.
