B20 China 2016 Kick-off Meeting

B20 China 2016 Kick-off Meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People. In the taskforces breakout session, the structure of B20 China taskforces were introduced, Chairs, Co-Chairs, network partners and knowledge partners were announced. In each taskforce, proposed priority topics and timeline were presented to members. Two panel discussions were held on the role of B20 and beyond, and what to be expected from B20 China. In the afternoon plenary session, B20 China Chair, G20 China Sherpa and Vice Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province and previous B20 Chairs delivered speeches respectively. 

The highlight of the Meeting is the keynote speech given by Vice Premier Wang Yang. He said that the Chinese government has attached much importance to B20, which is a significant platform for global businesses to contribute to G20. After six years since its inception, B20 has been exerting more influence on G20 with over 400 recommendations provided. According to the Vice Premier, the Chinese government will work on four areas to better host the G20 Summit this September. The B20 Kick-off Meeting was concluded with a warm welcome from the Vice Premier, inviting representatives from the global business community and international organizations to go to Hangzhou.
