A DG GROW delegation led by Deputy Director General Antti Peltomaki visited China on the occasion of the 2015 EU-China Regulatory Dialogue. Representatives of the European Chamber's Standards and Conformity Assessment, Quality and Safety Services, Healthcare Equipment and Cosmetics Working Groups, led by Vice President Mats Harborn, had a briefing session with members of the delegation on recent developments in relevant areas, ahead of DG GROW's Plenary Meeting with China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

Director General Peltomaki welcomed the meeting with the European Chamber, and introduced the context of their visit characterised by a slow-down of both growth and investment, and the need for further bilateral cooperation. In return, representatives of the European Chamber debriefed DG GROW delegation on a wide range of issues, including updates on overcapacity, China Manufacturing 2025, standardisation reform, compulsory and voluntary certifications reform, Buy China, labellling, animal testing, cross-border E-commerce, and Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation, as well as other market access obstacles.
