Dear Members of Compliance and Business Ethics Working Group,
The Compliance and Business Ethics Working Group is pleased to invite you to its first meeting, which will take place on Monday 8 April at 14:00-16:00 in both Beijing and Shanghai office via videoconference facility.
In this meeting, we are honoured to have officials from the Anti-monopoly and Price Supervision Office of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Market Regulation to present us the anti-monopoly practice and retail price compliance (反垄断实践和零售的价格合规). The speakers will also introduce us the new responsibilities of the Office after the government restructuring. The presentation will be followed up with a Q&A session. To ensure free flow of the discussion, the presentation and the Q&A session will be in Chinese only.
Within this occasion, we will also host the Chair election and discuss the 2019 Compliance and Business Ethics Working Group Position Paper outline.The Chair shall play a key role in driving the development of the Group. With support from the Chamber secretariat, he or she shall promote the Group’s activities and communicate targeted messages on behalf of industry to policy makers and key stakeholders in China and Europe. The Chair shall also serve as spokesperson to raise the Group’s visibility in the media and at relevant events when appropriate. The Vice Chairs shall play a supporting role to the Chair of the Group. The Vice Chairs assist the Chair when needed in driving the development of the Group and can also represent the Group in communicating messages to policy makers and stakeholders in China and Europe. In the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chairs shall take over the responsibilities of the Chair. Should you be interested in running for the Chair or Vice Chair position, please send your bio and a motivation letter to Ms. Helei Fu at hlfu@europeanchamber.com.cn no later than Tuesday 2April, 2019, COB.
A further email containing the bios and motivation letters of all chair candidates will be circulated prior to the elections. Voting for the elections, one vote per company, must be conducted in person at the working group meeting after each candidate has had the opportunity to give a short speech on why they would like to run for election. The duration of the term for both the Chair and the Vice Chairs is one year. All elected Chairpersons must sign the attached Code of Conduct.
