What will be the Implications of Granting China Market Economy Status?
China joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001, and with that began its 15-year interim period. China has promised to carry out Economic reforms during this period with the aim to become a Market Economy. In December 2016, the European Union will make a decision on whether China should join the “exclusive club” of countries with market economy status.
