The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the upcoming Seminar on Sell to China – Establishment and Management of a Distribution Network in China.
In the recent decades, China has undergone rapid development due to the opening of its market and its succession into the WTO. Due in part to such growth and in combination with its massive 1.3 billion population, it represents the world's largest consumer market. So China is now both the largest yet most challenging opportunity for many companies. How to well expand business and extend one's market share in China may be a widely discussed topic. At this meeting we will provide a platform for sharing and exchanging ideas on building up and expanding distribution network in China. We have invited experts to talk about different aspects of sales and retails in China, followed by best practice sharing and a panel discussion.

Mr. Volker Englert
Volker is a German global professional with two independent German university degrees (Business Administration & Contemporary Chinese Studies).
He extensive experience in Mainland China in consulting, project management and sales related roles and speaks business proven Mandarin Chinese.
Volker advises and represents Western clients (mainly European, North & South American and Australian) with their business interests in China. He has worked on numerous complex transactions including foreign direct investment including corporate (re)structuring and company liquidations, M&A deals and frequently advises on and represents foreign clients in China tax, accounting and trade related matters.
He holds a master’s degree (German Diplom Kaufmann) from the University of Wuerzburg in Business Management and a Bachelor degree in Modern Chinese and studied at the Peking University.

Since returning to China in 2011, Neil has been leading the Country Team operations as well as the China Security Risk Management team for Hill & Associates. Much of the focus in recent times has been in assisting companies to manage the direct social and economic impacts on operations; primary drivers being internal fraud matters, labour and commercial relationships, crisis and contingency management issues.Central to all engagements, he supports is providing sustainable, balanced, risk based approach towards security risk that is logical, economically sound and acceptable to the company stakeholders and/or the senior management team.
Prior to his 2011 return to China, Neil had been serving in various appointments internationally assisting businesses and organizations, both internal to their structure or as a Consultant, establishing and creating sustainable security operations in Africa, SE Asia, East Asia and the Middle East. He has worked with companies during times of exponential growth, establishment of new markets and operations, assisting to implement internal risk management systems in a number of different geographic locations and well as providing strategic security advice and policy. This has included in extremis support and initial kidnap, ransom and extortion response. In addition, during his time in multinational corporations he has had intimate exposure to the crisis management of site specific, country and regional crises and has developed Business Continuity Plans and the supporting Contingency Management Plans to mitigate the business risk during these events.
Mr. Luigi Zunarelli
Mr. Luigi Zunarelli
Born in Bologna on April 21st 1984, Luigi Zunarelli graduated with full marks from the University of Bologna in June 2009, focusing throughout his studies on international issues. He discussed a thesis on Asian countries law, after a research period at the Academy of Social Sciences in Shanghai in winter 2008, mainly focusing on sale procedures, product allocation and contract types within the Chinese market.
Currently living in Shanghai since 2008, Mr. Zunarelli assist foreign and domestic enterprises on their international business, covering the position of advisor for Italian and Chinese Institution (Istituto Italiano per l’Africa e l’Oriente, China Leather Association, Istituto di Cultura Italiana in Shanghai, Haining Municipality, etc).
Mr. Patrick Gong

Patrick is a consultant at Mercer Information Solution Team with expertise in Consumer, Retail & Luxury Industry. He is strong at data mining & analysis and able to provide client with effective solutions in HR practices based on his deep understanding of the overall economy and hands-on operation in daily HR management in particular.
Prior to joining Mercer Shanghai Office, Patrick has been working as a consultant for a leading consulting firm specialized in providing vertical solutions to clients in retail industry. His engagement involves a diversified variety of functions including business strategy, HR restructuring, market entry, supply chain optimization and creation of Standard Operation Procedure for a premier retailer in China.
Throughout his consulting career, Patrick has provided services to many companies of domestic and global fame, including Metersbonwe, Adidas China, Benz, Motel and B&Q etc.
Mr. Andre Suguiura

As a Managing Partner, in 2007 Andre Suguiura established LifeStyle Logistics China, a company with branches in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Tokyo. LifeStyle Logistics is a logistics company exclusively serving companies in the retail/wholesale and e-commerce Fashion and LifeStyle segments.
Mr. Suguiura has more than 12 year experience in fashion logistics and fashion retail in China. Born in 1969 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mr. Suguiura has a BSc with a major in Electric Engineering apart of several Logistics Certifications.
