PRD Board Election 2013

Dear Member of the European Chamber Pearl River Delta,

The Annual PRD Board Election, where the Chair and Board Members of its local Board are elected, will take place on Friday, April 12^th , 2013 in Guangzhou.

 Every year, each Chapter of the European Chamber is required to elect its local Board. The Board consists of delegates from member companies. The Board represents the other members and speaks on behalf of them on all occasions, especially during meetings with the Chinese authorities. Please click here to find more information about their role and their responsibility.

To gain the better results, it is crucial for you, as a member of the European Chamber PRD Chapter, to have dedicated representatives, actively contributing to the strategy of the Chapter locally.

The nomination period is open for the positions of Pearl River Delta Chair of the Board (1) and for Board positions (6) of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, PRD Chapter for the 2013/2014 term. 

If you meet all the following 4 criteria, you can vote and run for election:

1)     To be a primary contact (the main contact between the European Chamber and your company);

2)     A European member company with operations in China;

3)     A Member of one of our working groups or forums;

4)     With paid dues for the year 2013

Nominations remain open until 5^th April, 2013, 5:00pm. Elections will take place on April 12th, 2013.

If you would like to run for chair or board members of the local board, you need to:

1)     Be nominated by two primary contacts of other member companies eligible to vote (please refer to the above section “who can vote and run for elections?”)

2)     Fill in and sign the nomination form (click here to download). The nomination form must also be signed by the nominator and the seconder.

3)     Send the nomination form scanned by e-mail to Ms.Francine Hadjisitiriou at   fhadjisotiriou@europeanchamber.com.cn or by fax to: +86 0755 8632 9785, before 5pm on April 5^th.

The President of the European Chamber, Mr Davide Cucino, has appointed Mr. Adam Dunnett, European Chamber Secretary General as the Returning Officer for the elections.

To register to attend the PRD Board Election 2013, please confirm your participation by email to Ms.Elise Chun at sz.office@europeanchamber.com.cn by 10th April, 2013. Please note that this meeting is open to members only, and due to the limited availability of seating, the number of attendees per member company is restricted to a maximum of 1 for free; additional staff of member companies who would like to join will be charged for the cocktail food and beverage.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce – PRD Chapter cordially invites you to attend the PRD Board Election 2013 and to cast your vote at the election of the PRD local board.

 PRD Board Election, where the chair and board members are elected, will take place on Friday, 12^th April at the Pearl Room 8 of the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Science City located at 28 Ningcai Lu, Central District, Science City, Guangzhou.

This is a chance for you as member to have a say and give your feedback on the European Chamber activities in 2012 and 2013.

In order to vote at the PRD Board Election, you need to be:

1)     A primary contact (the main contact between the European Chamber and your company);

2)     A European member company with operations in China;

3)     A Member of one of our working groups or forums;

4)     In good standing with paid dues for the year 2013.

 There are two ways of voting:

1)     In person by secret ballot at the Board Election. Please register your attendance at sz.office@europeanchamber.com.cn by Thursday, 11^th April. You will receive an official confirmation from our events department after verifying your membership status.

2)     Assign a proxy to vote on your behalf from April 8^th to April 11^th. Your proxy must be a colleague from your company or another member company eligible to vote (i.e.: meeting all the 4 requirements listed above).

The number of proxies a member can be assigned is maximum 5.

Note: Your proxy (the person you nominate to vote on your behalf) must attend the Board Election and register with us at sz.office@europeanchamber.com.cn by Thusrday, 11^th April 5pm, 2013.

All members (including those who do not meet the requirements for voting), with paid dues, have the right to participate in and be heard at the PRD Board Election 2013.
