CONFERENCE SUMMARY

The most crucial human resource in every company in China is the Chinese professional. These are engineers, sales and marketing professionals, financial experts, human resource professionals, computer experts, among many others that are the true engines of growth in companies operating in China. In most multinational firms in China, a majority of these employees are Chinese and most of them are between the ages of 22 and 35.

The theme of this year's HR Conference will focus on the Chinese professional, examining the needs of this group including how to reward them, develop them and measure their performance. More importantly, while examining their aspirations, we will learn what motivates and engages them.

In order to best understand these professionals, the conference will host a variety of panel discussions, lectures and exercises. First, we will explore the Chinese Professional from the views of the most senior leaders, including a CEO keynote speech and a CEO panel. We will also gather a panel of experts to explore the aspirations of Chinese professionals, especially in regards to their career plans. We will also examine differences among Chinese professionals of different age groups. How do Generation X employees differ from those of Generation Y? What about older professionals? Are there different issues in rewarding, developing and measuring their performance versus those of younger generations? Finally, we will gather the views of all of those in attendance through an interactive instant survey on how different companies address their employees' needs today.
