The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to a seminar providing analysis of the recently announced VAT Reform.
A pilot program to replace business tax with value-added tax in certain sectors to avoid double taxation will be launched in Guangdong province in Nov 1.
The Guangdong pilot scheme will be similar to the one in Shanghai, which includes the transport sector and six modern service industries, such as R&D and IT services. An estimated 138,000 business-tax payers in the province, 120,000 of which are from the modern service sectors, are expected to be included in the program.
The seminar is intended to be informative, interactive and open to input from the floor.

Daisy Huang, Manager – Corporate Accounting Services, Guangzhou
Daisy currently serves as a manager in the corporate accounting services team of Dezan Shira & Associates' Guangzhou office. As part of the corporate accounting services team, Daisy is involved in the audits of companies in different business sectors including manufacturing, retail, financial services, real estate and information technology. Daisy is experienced in the fields of corporate structuring, tax planning, internal control improvement and accounting and financing issues relating to foreign invested enterprises and advises our international clients on tax and internal control matters.
Helen Mao, Assistant Manager – Corporate Accounting Services, Dezan Shira & Associates Ltd, Shanghai
Helen Mao graduated from Shanghai Commercial Accounting School where she majored in Accounting. Helen has more than 10 years experience in the financial departments of Joint Venture Corporations and local companies. Helen holds the Certificate of Intermediate Accountant.
