This has the one of the hardest times for manufacturing businesses in China with rising labour costs, taxation and currency issues working against our abilities to hold down prices to our export customers who are struggling to maintain momentum in an atmosphere of looming global recession.
More than at any time, the key is to control costs and reduce them wherever possible. However, in most businesses it becomes difficult to identify where the hidden costs are, where you can look to cut back without damaging your business and how to spot money being wasted in your business. In this session we will be looking at what reports are essential in identifying poor efficiencies and how to get them. We will be learning how to read our balance sheets and profit/loss accounts to discover information we did not know we had about the health of our business, and whether we are a lean, mean, efficient machine, or a fat, lumbering, tired old beast that will not be long in this new world.
This should be a really interesting session enabling us to tackle the coming storms armed with the best information we can about our own business. We will also take the time to explore how others are coping with the difficult conditions and where our members have identified their biggest risk factors and what they are doing to mitigate these.
