Dear Working Group Member,
We are delighted to invite you to the next joint Banking & Securities and Insurance Working Groups meeting, to be held on Tuesday 21st December, starting at 9:30am. As the European Chamber won’t have the meeting room available for this WG meeting, Ms. Qingqing Wang, Vice Chair of the Insurance WG has offered to use Societe Genreale’s office (please see the address).
On 25 November 2010, State Council issued a notice 584 which sets out the new running requirements for Representative Office (RO). This new regulation will come into effect as of March 1st 2011.
At this meeting we will have the honour and pleasure to welcome Ms. Tracy Zhang, tax Partner at KPMG. She will deliver a brief presentation on the taxation and accounting implications of this new regulation for the representative offices of financial services. This short presentation will give a head up on what operationally financial representative offices of financial services firms have to do.
Tentative Agenda:
1. Brief presentation by Tracy Zhang, Partner at KPMG on the tax and implications of the new Regulation on rep offices issued by State Council
2. Discussion on actions that the European Chamber should take regarding this regulation.
