Dear Members,
The long-expected draft on the first comprehensive legislation on property rights has recently been issued and been made public on the website of the National People's Congress. The draft law covers government, collective and private property and how each property and its rights should be transferred and protected. After having been vetted three times by the NPC Standing Committee, the draft is open for public consultation before August 20th and is likely to be submitted for approval next March.
We would like to invite you to a Working Group meeting on Thursday, 4th August at 9am at the Chamber?? offices in order to discuss the content of this important, yet controversial draft and prepare comments to be submitted before above mentioned deadline. An English translation of the draft law will be circulated ahead of the meeting to those who have confirmed attendance by Tuesday 2nd August.
For any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at bm@euccc.com.cn. Thank you for confirming your attendance before Tuesday, August 2nd by replying to this email. Feel free to email specific issues you would like to address during discussion ahead of time.
Best regards,
Dr Ioana R Kraft
