We are pleased to bring to you the 2020/2021 edition of the Sustainable Business Talks, a series of events brining corporate leaders together to dive deep into sustainable solution synergies.
In this Sustainable Business Talk, University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and Volvo both winners of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Award at the European Chamber's 2020 Sustainable Business Awards will share details about their crisis management and pioneering role of facilitating multi-stakeholders within their cases presented. They will share about their well-rounded policies that led them to implement rapid strategies to protect employees and leave a positive impact in society during the COVID-19 epidemic.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China welcomes Mr. Thomas Murphy, Chief Financial and Planning Officer, University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Ms Inge Zhou, VP Corporate Communications, Volvo and Mr. Bradley Sun, Director QES Shanghai Plant, Volvo.
In the panel session, we also invite key stakeholders in their COVID-19 response projects and judges who evaluated their cases, together they will share their expertise, challenges, implementation and outlook of sustainable solutions in China. - Payment can be made by cash (domestic), credit/debit card or WeChat.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received in writing at least one full day in advance of the date of the webinar.
To cancel you can: 1) email yangzhao@europeanchamber.com.cn, or 2) cancel online if you registered for the event through the website. Should you fail to cancel your participation on time, the European Chamber reserves the right to transfer future event/webinar registrations to other interested participants. In the case of fee-based events, the event fee will be charged to those who fail to cancel their registration on time.
Advisory Council Policy
Members of the Advisory Council may receive complimentary admission to Chamber seminars, conferences and factory visits up to two attendees per event. Additional participants will be charged at the member rate.
Advisory Council members will still be charged the standard member rate for participation in training courses and special events, such as gala balls, government appreciation dinners, or admission to corporate social events/tournaments.

Cindy is the Chair of CSR Forum from 2020 at European Chamber Shanghai where she has served as Vice Chair and Chairwoman since 2014. Currently, she is the Marketing and Communication Director of Mestä APAC, responsible for marketing and communication strategy and planning, including sustainability communications for Mestä Group in APAC region. Cindy acted as Vice Chair of Finnish Chamber of Shanghai during 2019-2022,
Dr. Jianzhong Lu
Dr. Jianzhong Lu
Dr. Lu Jian Zhong, board member of Global Reporting Initiative GRI and Deputy Director General of China CSR Think Tank, deputy chairman of Shanghai Foreign Invested Association. He performed many senior executive roles for more than 20 years in a variety of industry sectors and multinational companies, such as President General Affairs Essilor Greater China, President China of The Weir Group, and Global Partner of Brunswick Group, Executive Vice President of Singapore RGE Group (China) and Chief Representative, Chairman of RGE subsidiary Asia Symbol Paper & Pulp Ltd, Vice President of RGE Subsidiary Sateri Group Ltd., Acting President China of BHP Billiton Group. In his roles of leading China operation in the companies, he integrated corporate social responsibility and sustainability into company’s strategy and day to day operations realizing social value alongside financial value, he helped the companies achieve business growth, operational excellence, and corporate image as well as talent development. Dr. Lu acquired solid professional expertise in enterprise management, commercial operations, leading corporate strategy, business growth, market expansion, organizational and leadership development, corporate branding and strategic communications, employee engagement, and company culture advancement.
Dr Lu is a well-konwn pioneer of sustainable business strategy and well-respected industry thought leader, with profound and systematic practical expertise and theoretical methodologies.
Ms. Xiaojun (June) Qian
Ms. Xiaojun (June) Qian
Dr Xiaojun (June) Qian is currently the Associate Dean of Academics at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University and a professor of the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. She is also the director of the Research Center for Green Economy and Sustainable Development of Tsinghua University. She teaches managerial communication, business ethics, corporate social responsibility, sustainability related courses for MBA, EMBA and executive education programs. She leads the Faculty Code of Conduct Committee as well as the Institutional Review Board of School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University.
June graduated with her Bachelor degree from Tsinghua University and received her master’s and PhD degrees from Purdue University, the United States.
Mr. Thomas Murphy
Mr. Thomas Murphy
Tom took on the role of Chief Financial and Planning Officer at UNNC in February 2020. In addition to having responsibility for the University’s finances, Tom’s portfolio also includes management and oversight of HR, IT, Estates, Procurement, Library, Sports, Business Development along with the Strategy and Planning Team. Tom is a Chartered Management Accountant and has worked for a number of organisations in both the private and public sectors in the UK in a mix of Finance, HR and Commercial roles.
Ms. Inge Zhou
Ms. Inge Zhou
Mrs. Inge Zhou joined Volvo Construction Equipment (China) Co., Ltd. in February 2012. She is currently the Vice President of Corporate and Marketing Communications, responsible for Volvo Construction Equipment's corporate and market communications, internal communication management and brand reputation building in China.
Mrs. Inge Zhou has 20 years of marketing and corporate communications experience, and is well versed in corporate and marketing communication management. Since joining Volvo Construction Equipment, Mrs. Inge Zhou has been committed to deepening the cultural construction of Volvo Construction Equipment, continuously expanding the social influence of the company's brand, and improving the internal communication efficiency of the company, and winning a good media reputation and public image for the company in the Chinese market.
Previously, Mrs. Inge Zhou was senior manager of Siemens (China) Co., Ltd., and worked in the Corporate Communications Department, Corporate Marketing Department, Corporate Events and Cultural Affairs Department, and the Siemens One Strategy Project Group.
Mrs. Inge Zhou is fluent in German and English. She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from CEIBS. She has completed a further studying at the Technology University Braunschweig in Germany. She also has working experiences in other European companies in China and at headquarters.
