More and more companies are discovering that proactive environmental activities make significant contribution to profitability and competitiveness. In addition to reducing cost and avoiding regulatory risk, benefits are flowing from environmental initiatives that spur innovation, improve productivity, enhance brand image and even open new market opportunities. The CEO Talks: Corporate Social Profitability VIP Talk series of events aims to bring together corporate leaders and innovations delivering value chain sustainability and business resilience. These high-level discussions focus on placing sustainability and innovation at the beginning of the innovation process that involves increasing the company’s bottom line.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. This requires enormous efforts, from governments and the private sector alike.
Chinese and international enterprises play a pivotal role in achieving these goals and can act as catalyst for positive development impact. The private sector is uniquely well-positioned to deploy a variety of assets, such as its people, systems, technology, logistics, and finance. It is not just a responsibility, rather a necessity for a sustainable future and long-term success in business terms as well.
The European Chamber is pleased to invite Coco Zhang, Mary Kay’s Vice President, to share with us their Sustainable Practices. As one of China’s leading foreign enterprises that integrate its development into the framework of the global SDGs; taking full advantage of Mary Kay’s unique business model in various areas such as, promoting decent work and economic growth, promoting gender equality and creating a better life in order to realize both business values and social values. In Addition, Mary Kay launched the first SDG Pilot Village Project in China through partnership with United Nations Development Programme.
