Dear Members,
The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to join its Joint HR Working Group, CSR Forum and Education Roundtable: Enabling Equality: Furthering Disability Equality in the Workplace, which will take place on Tuesday 29th May 2018 at 09:00-11:00 am at the European Chamber Shanghai Office.
Since 2007, a mandatory employment quota (at least 1.5% of the workforce) for national and private entities was introduced by the Regulation on the Employment Promotion for Persons with Disabilities. In 2015, the Ministry of Finance and the China Disabled Persons Federation jointly issued the Methods on Levying, Use and Management of Employment Security Fund for Persons with Disability No. 72 [2015] (“Methods”), introducing a change in its calculation that impacted foreign companies operating in China.
As an indispensable pillar of diversity and inclusion strategy, human resources management strive to facilitate equal employment opportunities. Various good practices among different industries have been implemented to promote the integration of people with disabilities, but this all starts with a match between the companies’ needs and the skills set of disabled workers on the market. How to bridge the gap and successfully recruit this talent, benefitting the company as a whole?
The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to participate in an interactive session with ILO Consultant and former UN Officer Mr Haibin Zhou, Professor June Chen, from the East China Normal University and Partner Jeanette Yu from CMS Legal to understand the current legal environment, learn about implementable actions that will help your company identify, recruit and support the growth of disabled employees.
