We are delighted to invite you to the European Chamber’s next Government Affairs Forum Meeting featuring the discussions on the 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China and Its Outcomes at 10:00 am on Tuesday 21 November, 2017 in the Chamber’s Beijing Office.
The Communist Party of China (CPC) held its 19th National Party Congress in Beijing from October 18–25, 2017, a twice-per-decade event to set the party’s national policy goals and elect its top leadership. The new members of the CPC’s all-powerful Politburo Standing Committee were unveiled after the First Plenum of the 19th Central Committee on 25 October. The influence of China’s new leadership team on the direction of the country’s foreign and domestic policy will gradually play out over the coming months and years.
President Xi Jinping both cemented his status and elevated his thoughts on governance to a new level with their inclusion in the Party Constitution. According to his over three-hour long report at the Congress, China is in a new historic juncture of its development and, by 2050, China will become a global leader in terms of composite national strength and international influence, i.e. China will become “a great modern socialist nation”.
In order to help our members better understand the 19th Party Congress and its major outcomes, especially its impact on the FIEs, we are very pleased to invite you to a session with Mr Yin Bitian, Partner and Director for Policy Research with Trivium/China, to share with us his insightful knowledge and observations on the 19th Party Congress and its major outcomes. He will also interact with participants at the meeting after his presentation in the Q & A session.
