On January 17, the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) jointly issued a Circular on Pilot Measures Concerning the Record-filing of Non-special-purpose Cosmetic Imports in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area (see circular in Chinese). The pilot measures will be valid from March 1, 2017 to December 21, 2018.
The Circular is a long awaited document that was under discussion between the two ministries from the beginning of 2017. It suggests some flexibility to import these types of cosmetics via Pudong. After half month of implementation, some European cosmetics companies have already benefited from this pilot project.
The European Chamber Shanghai Chapter is delighted to invite officials of Drug and Cosmetics Safety Supervision Division of the Pudong Market Supervision Bureau, to present the new measures to the members. They will also answer questions from audience and explain key points during the implementation process.
