It is widely understood that China’s draft Cybersecurity Law will be passed into Law before the end of 2016 (a third reading draft has been submitted to the National People’s Congress and an English translation is now available on China Law Translate). Furthermore, the Chinese Government has launched since July this year the nationwide campaign of critical information infrastructure examination and will formulate specific measures on critical information infrastructure protection. This tightening regulatory environment will bring risks and uncertainties to a wide range of foreign businesses operating in China.
As a consequence, we would like to leverage this meeting to update members on recent security-related regulatory developments and what they may imply, and discuss together lobbying strategies as well as follow-up activities.
