On 30th and 31st August 2016 the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) will host a workshop on Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).This workshop will be jointly implemented by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).Its purpose is to assess how a framework for HEMS operations could be introduced in China.
Topics to be discussed will include:
- Regulatory scope of HEMS operations
- Specific regulatory topics (e.g. helicopter performance, public interest sites)
- Private vs. State HEMS Operations
- HEMS from a certification perspective (e.g. helicopter performances, cabin HEMS installations: major mods, STCs, host requirements for HEMS operations)
- Practical examples of HEMS application in Europe
- Financing of HEMS services
- Scope for EU-China cooperation in promoting the further establishment of HEMS in China
