The More than a Market initiative aims at catalyzing and promoting social engagement of German companies operating in China. Initiated by the German Chamber of Commerce Shanghai and Bertelsmann Stiftung with support from the German Consulate General in Shanghai, an ambitious agenda was set up, helping to show and shape the depth of German social engagement in China.
We would like to cordially invite you to the More than a Market Forum and the inaugural More than a Market Award Gala on May 25th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Shanghai.
The More than a Market Award Gala will be celebrated in the framework of the German Chamber flagship event - our monthly Chamber Meeting. The events on May 25th will be the highlight of the first year of the More than a Market Initiative – and the kick-off for year two, where the initiative will further expand. The More than a Market Forum, a half-day conference featuring high-level keynote speakers, panel discussions and interactive workshops. It will address the opportunities and challenges of social engagement by German companies in China. The Forum will deliver practical takeaways through best practice presentations and in-depth insights from leading practitioners as well as voices from Chinese society. In the interactive workshops, professionals will gain advice on developing social projects that benefit society as well as business objectives. The Forum also offers an opportunity to foster peer networks and connect with German and Chinese stakeholders. On the evening of May 25th, in the framework of the Chamber Meeting May, we will celebrate the More than a Market Award Gala. It will shine a light on some of the most outstanding and inspiring social projects of German companies in China. More than 39 companies have participated in the initiative and 15 companies have been short listed for the Awards. Join us on this special evening to get to know the nominated companies and their initiatives and experience with the Sino-German community the presentation of the first More than a Market Awards.
