Dear R&D Working Group Members,
Our next R&D Working Group meeting has been confirmed for Friday 29th April > 15:30 - 18:00. As policies affecting R&D operations are introduced and updated ever more regularly in the light of China’s push towards innovation, it is key that foreign R&D professionals keep themselves informed to adjust their operations accordingly to maintain their competitiveness. At this session, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Vicky Au, Director Tax Services at PwC who will be providing us with an update on the latest R&D Super Deduction rules and HNTE policy criteria which have recently undergone important changes that may bear implications for your business.
At the same time, with all the chatter about Shanghai intending to evolve into a global innovation hub by the year 2020, it will be interesting for many to evaluate the what the latest visa regulations will have in store for the R&D sector. This is where we will welcome Mr. Philip Cheng, Partner at Hogan Lovells to give us an overview of the latest developments regarding visas for foreign experts, interns, recent graduates etc.
We will kick off the meeting by holding our annual R&D Working Group Chairs elections which will determine the group’s leadership for the year to come. It is my pleasure to announce the following candidates for the R&D Working Group in 2016-2016:
