In recent years the world has witnessed a trend whereby corporations have moved from ad hoc sponsorship arrangements with non-governmental organisations towards coherent community engagement programmes. More recently, there has been an increasing number of strategic, long-term sustainable partnerships. Entrepreneurs are looking to create profit not only at the financial level but also at the social level.
A Social Venture is a growing, profitable and so sustainable business, with ambition that is not only driven by revenue and profit maximisation but also by its social good. The Social Venture Forum was started as the socialventureforum.com with the objective to inform, inspire and encourage acting in favor of harmonious development through Social Ventures in China.
Is a for-profit Social Venture impossible?
Mr. Ludvic Bodin (Mr. Bodin Bio), co-founder of the Social Venture Forum (www.socialventureforum.com) will look into the essential into the dynamics behind Business - Social Good, usually 2 worlds having little interaction. He will also take real case examples from sectors ranging from Poverty Reduction to Health and Environment improvement.
Mr. Ramsey Rayyis (Mr. Rayyis Bio) and Mr. Carl Naucler, representing the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will speak on the global structure of Red Cross around the world, and highlight examples of corporate sponsorships that have helped benefit some of China's poorest rural communities.
