China’s e-commerce is one of the largest and fastest-growing e-commerce markets in the world. By 2015, e-commerce transactions in China are projected to hit USD 540 billion, or approximately 10 percent of total retail transactions. The number of online shoppers in China has been increasing exponentially from below 34 million in 2006 to over 361 million users in 2014 with more than 2.5 million people working directly in e-commerce and more than 18 million indirectly. Protecting your company brand and design in the e-commerce world is becoming crucial to business sustainability. Songping (Allen) Zhang, Legal Affairs Manager, Samsonite China. Allan graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in 2001. After graduation he worked in legal management for several market leading companies in the legal service industry. During his professional career he has accumulated extensive experience in IPR protection and successfully handled IPR protection cases with great influence in the industry. Currently Allen is working for Samsonite China. Samsonite is an American luggage manufacturer and retailer, with products ranging from suitcases to backpacks and travel accessories. It was founded in Denver, Colorado, in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder and began using the trademark Samsonite in 1941. Samsonite claims to make strong, and lightweight suitcases combined with an innovative design.

Jamie Rowlands is a partner and Chief Representative Officer of Gowling WLG's Guangzhou Representative Office. He is a UK qualified solicitor with over 16 years of experience enforcing and protecting clients' valuable intellectual property rights (in particular patents and brands), negotiating and advising on transactions with an intellectual property focus and drafting commercial agreements more generally. He is client focussed and always strives to get to the nub of an issue to deliver the most relevant and commercial advice.
In China, Jamie works with his team on both transactional and litigation services. He has very extensive experience of all aspects of the court system in Mainland China and understands the complexities and cultural challenges well.

Jacob Chen is the Head of Rouse Guangzhou Office and a member of INTA China Bulletin and panelist and arbitrator before WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre, HKIAC, ADNDRC. He has 13 years of legal practice and has advised many famous domestic companies and Fortune Top 500 companies. He has special expertise in online brand protection, and leads the online enforcement team in China focusing on domain name dispute and online infringement, cooperating with China key e-platforms.

Alice Li has more than 10-year’s working experience in advising foreign companies on all aspects of their contentious and non-contentious IP strategies in China. She is a Senior Associate at Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co LLP, with strong experience in patent, trade mark and copyright litigation and enforcement strategies as well as experience in customs seizure, internet taking down, Geographical Indications, Anti-Unfair Competition dispute and other, less common, types of rights. Alice Li has acted for clients in the FMCG, mobility, IT accessories, retail and food industries.

Sophia has been working as an IP consultant for about 15 years in Rouse. She is very experienced IP enforcement in China including administrative, civil, and criminal enforcements .
Sophia was qualified as a PRC lawyer in 2007 and is a member of Rouse Dispute Resolution Team. Since 2011, Sophia has been providing clients advice in IP and trade secret protection in their supply chains. She is qualified as a Top-Level Trade Secret Protection Specialist (高级保密师) in 2012.
Sophia holds a masters degree in civil and commercial law in Sun Yat-Sen University and a bachelor’s degree in the English language.
Sophia has worked in Vietnam March to August 2015.
