The year 2012 saw an increase of 12.6% in the gross regional domestic product of RMB 2,384.98 billion Yuan, with the growth rate of 4.8% higher than the national average.
The total investment in fixed assets amounts to RMB 1,803.89 billion Yuan, an increase of 19.3%; the total retail sales of consumer goods stand at RMB 908.79 billion Yuan, an increase of 16%; the local public fiscal revenue reaches RMB 242.13 billion Yuan, an increase of 18.4%.
The industrial added value totals RMB 1,080.05 billion Yuan, with an increase of 15.6% and the rate of contribution to the economic growth of 56.9%. The industrial enterprises above designated size at the year-end stand at 12,576, the industrial added value of which increases by 16.1%.
The foreign investment in actual use amounts to 10.55 billion US dollars and the direct investment introduced from other provinces in China stands at 779.53 billion US dollars. The Fortune Global 500 that settled down in Sichuan totals 247, including 187 overseas companies. There are 9 foreign consulates inSichuanat the end of year 2012.
The total volume of foreign trade reaches 59.13 billion US dollars, with an increase of 23.9%, including the value of exports (an increase of 32.5%) and imports (an increase of 10.5%) of 38.46 billion US dollars and 20.67 billion US dollars, respectively. The turnover of contracted engineering projects for other countries and labor service cooperation amounts to 5.68 billion US dollars, with an increase of 12.7%. The overseas investment enterprises total 338 innumber, with 60 companies newly increased.
The outstanding of deposits for financial institutions totals RMB 4,113.08 billion Yuan at the end of year 2012. Insurance companies in Sichuan sum to 69, including 14 foreign-funded companies. There are 103 companies listed in domestic and aboard markets, 4 security companies, 3 futures companies, 243 agencies engaged in securities and futures and 11 branch offices for fund companies.
There are 99 ordinary colleges and universities in Sichuan, with 1,224,000 students at school and 287,000 graduates. Postgraduate training institutions total 40, with 85,626 students at school and 22,198 students graduated. Secondary vocational schools amount to 630 innumber, with 1,399,000 students at school.
There are 12 key laboratories at national levels, 148 provincial key laboratories, 14 national engineering and technological research centers and 122 provincial engineering and technological research centers, with 26 academicians in Chinese Academy of Sciences and 34 academicians in the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The patent application totals 66,312 in number this year, with 42,220 patent licensing.
There are 26 innovative (pilot) enterprises at national levels, and 1,154 provincial innovative enterprises, with 1,010 provincial scientific and technological achievements registered this year.
● 232 overseas high-level talents introduced in 4 years from theSichuan“100-Talent Program”
Since the launch of the “100-Talent Program” in early 2009, 232 overseas high-level talents and 9 innovative entrepreneur teams have been introduced 4 times successively, including 183 talents engaged in areas such as the electronic information, biological medicine and new energy and materials and 80 talents for enterprises, taking up approximately 79% and 34%, respectively. The 9 innovative entrepreneur teams are engaged in the strategic emerging industries, including 4 innovation teams and 5 entrepreneur teams which pushed forward the sales revenue of over RMB 10 billion Yuan for the enterprises.
● The economic aggregate of Chengdu exceeds RMB 800 billion Yuan, ranking among the Top 3 sub-provincial cities for the first time
The gross regional domestic product of Chengdu exceeds RMB 800 billion Yuan in 2012, ranking next only to Guangzhou and Shenzhen among the sub-provincial cities. Major economic indicators in terms of the growing rate of the economic aggregate, the added value for industrial enterprises above designated size and the foreign trade export stand first on the list of sub-provincial cities. The added value for industrial enterprises above designated size totals RMB 258.9 billion Yuan, topping the list of sub-provincial cities with an increase of 17.2%. The fixed-asset investment amounts to RMB 589.01 billion Yuan, with an increase of 17.7%. Project investments in Tianfu New Zone of Chengdu sum to RMB 140 billion Yuan, with an increase of 48.9% and the contribution rate to the investment growth of the city of 51.9%.
● 24-hour customs clearance rate for imports tops the list nationwide
In the 2012 assessment for the customs enforcement, the 24-hour customs clearance rate for imports tops the list nationwide at 99.57%. The 24-hour customs clearance rate for exports stands at 99.70%, meeting the full score standard of the General Administration of Customs.
● Traffic mileage for express ways in Sichuanranks 6th throughout the country
As of the end of February, the total traffic mileage for express ways in Sichuan has increased to 4,419 kilometers, ranking the 6th throughout the country (ranking 13th and 7th by the end of 2007 and 2011, respectively) and the 1st in west part of China. The total distance of express ways completed and under construction amounts to 6,647 kilometers, ranking the 2nd nationwide.

● Output value of industrial enterprises above designated size for nonferrous metals exceeds RMB 100 billion Yuan
The output value of industrial enterprises above designated size for nonferrous metals in Sichuan totals RMB 101.672 billion Yuan in 2012, with the year-on-year growth of 11.61%. The sales value of industry stands at RMB 98.474 Yuan, with the year-on-year growth of 8.36%.

年末金融机构人民币各项存款余额41130.8亿元。保险公司69家，其中外资公司14家；境内外上市公司103家，证券公司4家、期货公司3家，证券期货经营机构243家，基金公司分公司11家。
普通高校99所，在校生122.4万人，毕业生28.7万人；研究生培养单位40个，在校生85626人，毕业生22198人；中等职业教育630所，在校生139.9万人。
在川国家级重点实验室12个、省部级重点实验室148个，国家级工程技术研究中心14个、省级工程技术研究中心122个。有中国科学院院士26人、中国工程院院士34人。全年共申请专利66312件，专利授权42220件。
国家创新型（试点）企业26家，认定省级创新型企业1154家。全年完成省级科技成果登记1010项。
●四川“百人计划”4年引进232名海外高层次人才
2009年初，四省启动海外引才“百人计划”，分四批引进232名海外高层次人才和9个顶尖创新创业团队。232名引进人才中，电子信息、生物医药、新能源新材料等产业领域183人，约占总数的79%；企业引进人才80人，约占34%。9个创新创业团队均属战略性新兴产业领域，其中创新团队4个、创业团队5个，去年推动企业实现销售收入超过100亿元。
●成都经济总量突破8000亿 首入副省级城市三甲
2012年，成都市地区生产总值突破8000亿元，居全国副省级城市第三位，仅次于广州、深圳，经济总量增幅、规模以上工业增加值增幅、外贸出口增幅等主要经济指标均居全国副省级城市首位。实现规模以上工业增加值2589亿元，增长17.2%，增速居副省级城市第一。完成固定资产投资5890.1亿元，增长17.7%。天府新区成都分区项目完成投资1400亿元，增长48.9%，对全市投资增长的贡献率达51.9%。
●成都海关进口24小时放行率位居全国海关第一
在2012年全国海关的执法评估中，成都海关进口24小时放行率达99.57%，位居全国海关之首。出口24小时放行率达99.70%，达到海关总署满分标准。
●四川高速通车里程升至全国第六
截至2月底，四川高速公路通车总里程增至4419公里，从2007年底的全国第十三、去年底的全国第七，跃升至全国第六、西部第一。全省建成和在建高速公路总里程达6647公里，居全国第二。
●钒钛钢铁产业销售突破3000亿元
2012年四川钒钛钢铁产业规上企业实现销售产值3263.42亿元，同比增长11.15%。
●建材规上企业总产值突破3000亿元
2012年四川建材行业规上企业工业总产值突破3000亿元，达到3389.58亿元，同比增长17.16%。
●有色金属规上企业产值突破千亿元
2012年四川有色金属行业规模以上企业产值1016.72亿元，同比增长11.61%；完成工业销售产值984.74亿元，同比增长8.36%。
