The "Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents," also known as the Apostille Convention, became effective in China on November 7, 2023. This widely applicable convention, with the highest number of contracting members under the Hague Conference on Private International Law, aims to streamline the cross-border circulation of public documents. This change significantly reduces both the time and economic costs associated with document processing for both Chinese and foreign citizens and businesses, thereby facilitating international trade and personal exchanges.

To highlight the successful stories of the winning applications from this year, we group the winners by the countries of origin. In this talk, we are inviting companies originating from France, FORVIA Faurecia China, Lesaffre, and VEOLIA, who won the 2023 SBA in these categories respectively - Decarbonisation Leader, Rural Development Pioneer, and Circular Economy Pioneer, to outline their successful projects and practices. To recognise the contribution of French companies to sustainability, the Chamber is also inviting a representative from the Consulate General of the Republic of France in Shanghai to deliver the closing remarks.
