Dear working group members,
European Union Chamber of Commerce Agriculture, Food and Beverage working group last meeting of 2013 is planned in December 19th 10.00am (due to the venue - one hour later than usual).
This year we had 7 working group level meetings (25 ppl average), 2 member site visit (15 ppl average) and 1 event (55 ppl) in July, based on which I would like to give special thanks to our members and chairs of your support! I would also like to call for your support of hosting the visit at your site in 2014!
Following our previous contact with the China Food Safety Risk Assessment Center, we kept on our dialogue with Dr. Chen Junshi, and got to know and invited success project in China, which we – the EUCCC would like to share with our members of World Bank and Coca Cola experience and would like to discuss with our members, please find below the guest speakers located in Beijing:
- Dr. Zhao Jun, Rural Development expert, World Bank China office, may explain the two main projects ongoing related to food safety - Jilin Province Food Safety (which started in 2010), and a partnership between all the different authorities at a central level, more focused on policy and enforcement, pilot on 'value chain' demonstrations.
- Mr. Sun Wei, Food sector Project Director, Representative from Coca Cola China, may explain the Food Safety project under Coca Cola for 2 years, within which 6 CFSA experts were trained abroad, as train the trainer, which sustainability is maintained within the Chinese research and think tank.
The AFB working group meeting of the Chamber holds every month 4th Thursday, from 09.00 – 11.00 am for 2 hours linking by video from Beijing and Shanghai for 2014, and with participants from different supply chain of the food/agriculture sector, it serves a communication platform between European companies in the food and beverage sectors and the Chinese regulators and supervising authorities. The meeting normally have guest speakers and followed with Q & A.
