The European Chamber South China Chapter board election where South China Chapter Chair of the Board (1), Vice Chairs (2) and Board Members (4) are elected, for a two-year term (2023-2025), will take place on Tuesday, 11th April 2023. Now we call for candidates.
>> Who should be entitled to stand for election of South China Chapter Board?
1. Chair (1 position)
Any representative of a corporate member of the European Chamber.
2. Vice Chair (2 positions)
Any representative of a corporate member of the European Chamber.
3. Board Member (4 positions)
Any representative of a corporate member of the European Chamber and any individual member (Please note that individual members need a pre-approval from the Executive Committee of the European Chamber to run for this position).
The Chair, Vice Chairs and Board Members shall be elected for a two-year term and shall serve for those two years (2023-2025)
>> How can I run for elections?
The nomination period will open at 9am, 10th March 2023, and will close at 9am, 28th March 2023. Nomination Form and Motivation Letter should be returned complete to South China Chapter in person or by e-mail to fhadjisotiriou@europeanchamber.com.cn

>> Who can vote?
You can vote at the elections if you:
1.a. Are a designated representative (the main contact between the European Chamber and your company) of a corporate member, or
1.b. Are an individual member, and
2. Have paid the membership fee for the year 2023 and have no outstanding payment
>> How can I vote?
The Articles of Association approved during the AGM in 2019 have made the AGM and local board elections more convenient and practical for our members. You are now welcome to cast your vote either in person, or by e-voting, or designate a proxy to vote on your behalf. Please see below more information regarding each voting modality:
1) In person by secret ballot at the election venue on 11th April 2023. Please note that even if you have voting rights confirmed by the Secretariat of the Chamber, you must have registered for the South China Chapter Board Elections event in order to exercise this vote.
2) Electronic voting, open from March 29th 9am to April 7th 9am, by accessing designated link using your European Chamber user account email. Please note that the voting information will be sent to the designated representative of your company.
3) Assign a proxy to vote on your behalf by April 5th 9am. Please fill in the proxy form and send a scanned copy to Romina Di Martino at rdimartino@europeanchamber.com.cn, or in person at the Chamber office in South China (Guangzhou Office: Unit 2817, 28/F, Tower A, China Shine Plaza, No.9 Linhe Xi Road, Tianhe District 广州市天河区林和西路9号耀中广场A座2817室).
The proxy must be a colleague from your own legal entity. This requirement has only one exception for the Individual member, who may give his/her proxy to another individual member/corporate member in South China. However, an individual person can only hold a maximum of 5 proxies.
Proxies received after the deadline and in a format different from those listed above won’t be accepted.
