Today, the world is beset by several crises of global importance, the Russia-Ukraine war, the ongoing pandemic, energy shortage, and market downturn. The context within which these disruptions occur is an ever-present climate crisis, whose effective mitigation will require a global transition to a low-carbon economy. Companies are finding that their current business model must evolve to suit this new environment, and building resilience is key.
Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) has been held 5 years in a row, and this year it once again takes an active role in acknowledging companies who put sustainable economic growth, green development, innovation, risk management, and social welfare at the forefront of their values. Kicked off on 27th May, four SBA 2022 CEO Talks on the topics of the awards categories were held, featuring winner companies from last year as speakers. A significant number of applications for the awards were received during the submission from 27th May to 4th July. Later on, these cases were evaluated by the judges in July and August.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is pleased to invite you to the 2022 Sustainable Business Awards Conference & Ceremony: Advancing Resilience for Sustainable Growth. In Part I (Conference), we convene with thought leaders across industries to explore how we can arrive at a resilient and sustainable stance, ready to navigate risks and accelerate into the next reality. In Part II (Ceremony), 2022 awards winners will be announced and applicants will be acknowledged.
[A 48-hour valid negative PCR test result is required for entry.]

The European Chamber Sustainable Business Awards have been continuously improving, growing, and promoting awareness since being established in 2017. As we strongly value feedback from our experts, each year, categories, criteria, and requirements are adapted best to reflect Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards. Notably, our award categories closely follow United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals and China’s long-term policy on rural revitalisation and environmental protection. The Awards will deepen our understanding of CSR, company goals, and opportunities. The Sustainable Business Awards focus on stakeholder engagement and long-term impact rather than utilizing sustainability as a ‘buzzword’ in company strategy without meaning. The judging criteria are systematic and objective; the evaluation process is open and transparent.
This year the Awards categories consist of:
- Advanced Performer in Decarbonisation
- Navigating Diversity and Inclusion
- Outstanding Environmental Performance
