Sport at the highest level is big business, according to Forbes, the average valuation of the worlds top 20 football clubs sits at almost USD 1.5 billion. At the very top of this group (both on and off the field) sits FC Barcelona.
Joan Oliver is in a unique position to comment on the global commercial development of sport. From 2003 to 2010 he worked in varous senior roles at FC Barcelona, ultimatley becoming Chief Executive Officer in 2008. During this period, FCB rose to become the highest valued football club on the planet while matching this commercial success with a period of dominance on the pitch.
On November 7 at 4:00 pm, AmCham and the European Chamber are pleased to invite Mr Joan Oliver to share the story of how FC Barcelona translated sporting success to commercial success and the lessons he believes can be applied to the sports industry in China.
