The EU-China Business Summit 2006 took place in Helsinki on 12 September 2006. The very successful Summit, in which more than 200 business leaders from China and Europe participated, launched a Joint Business Declaration. The over-arching theme for the Summit was BOOSTING INNOVATIONS- the New Era of the EU-China Economic Co-operation.

The Summit was organised by the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK in co-operation with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM), the Ministry for Fereign Affairs of Finland, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the European Commission, UNICE, the European Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) and the EU-China Business Association (EUCBA).

European Chambers Secretary General, Giorgio Magistrell was one of the first speakers in the Business Leaders' Plenary Session which was attended by officials and business leaders from Asia and Europe.
