European Chamber Shenyang Chapter 2023 Annual General Meeting and Local Board Election Results

On 28th April 2023, the Annual General Meeting and Local Board Election of the European Chamber’s Shenyang Chapter was successfully held at the Shenyang New World EXPO.

The event, with over 70 participants, brought together Consul Generals and consulate representatives from Germany, France, United States, Australia, and Japan; officials from the Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Liaoning Province, Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shenyang Municipal Commerce Bureau; and senior executives and representatives from member companies.

During the Annual General Meeting, the following candidates were elected and co-opted to the new board of the Shenyang Chapter:

Shenyang Chapter Chair:

  • Mr. Erich Kaiserseder, Conrad Shenyang Hotel

Shenyang Chapter Board Members:

  • Mr. Robert Kuessel, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.
  • Mr. Sebastian Bittner, GG Cables and Wires (Shenyang) Co., Ltd.
  • Ms. Diane Chen, Shenyang New World EXPO
  • Mr. Matt Sullivan, Trench High Voltage Products Ltd, Shenyang
  • Mr. Stephane Gonnetand, Dalian ODC Marine Manufacture Co., Ltd. (co-opted following the election)

We would like to extend a warm thank you to the outgoing board members for their commitment and support. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Harald Kumpfert, the outgoing vice chair, as well as the acting chair, of the Shenyang Chapter for his dedication and support throughout the years. Finally, a heartfelt farewell recognition for President Joerg Wuttke with local traditional flavour was organised with the presence of all participants.

After the election was held, the newly-elected chair, Mr. Erich Kaiserseder, was joined on stage by Chamber President, Mr. Jörg Wuttke, and Chamber Vice President, Mr. Jens Eskelund, for a panel discussion to share their views on topics including the China-EU economic and trade relations, economic development trends in key areas in the post-pandemic era, China’s Two Sessions and the implications for foreign businesses after, the revitalization and significance of Northeast China as a core for economic development.
