Dear Members and Friends,

Time is flying. Another year comes to an end and we are embracing the spirit of Christmas and are about to welcoming a New Year in front of us. I would like to take the opportunity to provide my utmost gratitude to all of you for your continuous support, the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter could enjoy in 2021.

The support we received and the growing number of members is greatly strengthening the voice of the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter, which helps to continuously improving the advocacy and service for you. Also, the year 2021 has been still driven by uncertainties and challenges, not only in lieu of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in which we have once again put a high effort on a strong support for our members and the European business Community. In this year, we have mainly focused on the interpretations of new policies and regulations. In this regard, the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter has organized a wide range of lobby meetings to foster and encourage an open communication between our members and both, EU and local Government authorities, for the main common concerns raised by our members.

This has especially covered several challenges our member companies have faced in 2021, including but not limited to: Uncertain Energy supply and Power Shortages, successful PU letter facilitation (for employees and their families) and travel restriction, Access to Vaccination, Policy update during the epidemic outbreak in Jiangsu / Nanjing and relevant responding incentive policies. 

Furthermore, the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter has organized 63 events, providing business intelligence by preparing and sharing important business and society topics.

The most notable signature events in 2021 have been:

·       2021 Jiangsu Government Dialogue and EU Day celebration

·       2021 Nanjing Municipal Government Dialogue

·       2021 Nanjing Chapter Annual General Meeting and Business Networking

·       Position Paper 2021/2022 Launch Event

·       8th Corporate Social Responsibility Awards Ceremony

Traditionally, a year-end is also the time for an outlook into the next year to come. Looking at 2022, we already like to invite you to pay special attention to the following planned signature events:  

·       Nanjing Government Dialogue (March)

·       Badminton Spring Tournament (April)

·       Jiangsu Government Dialogue & Europe Day Celebration (May/June)

·       Position Paper 2022/2023 Launch (September)

·       9th CSR Awards Ceremony (November) 

Of course, our European Chamber Nanjing Chapter team will prepare and offer again a number of social events, executive roundtables and new training series in the upcoming 2022. We would be delighted to welcome you hereto.
