Deputy Director General Chen has extensive experience in medium-to-long term macro-policy planning, and has been a key member of the drafting committee of China’s 10th, 11th and 12th Five Year Plans.
Both parties discussed the future collaboration between the European Chamber's Urbanisation Task Force and the NDRC, under the general framework of the EU-China Urbanisation Partnership formed last November. Deputy Director General Chen was briefed on the European Chamber’s Letter of Intent, signed with the Chinese Centre for Urban Development (CCUD) in Shanghai last month, and suggested that this relationship be strengthened through a regulatory perspective. In addition, DDG Chen welcomed the Chamber's input in the form of a five-year economic outlook and related policy recommendations, which the NDRC will take into consideration when drafting the 13th Five-Year Plan.
