Policy Meeting on Supply Side Structural Reform

On 1st June, 2017, The InterChamber SME Working Group held a policy meeting on supply-side structural reform (SSSR) in Beijing. During the meeting, Ms Philippa Jones, Managing Director in China Policy and Mr Tianjun Wu in Economist Intelligence Unit to give two presentations on the topic. For Ms Philippa Jones, she mainly focused on political aspect to explain the supply-side structural reform and exampled agriculture in supply side. As for Mr Tianjun Wu, he mainly focused the economic side, illustrate the five main tasks in SSSR, which are cutting (industrial) overcapacity, destocking (housing) inventory, (corporate) deleveraging, lowering (corporate) costs, and improving “weak links”. After the two presentations, there was a Q&A part for attendants to ask speakers questions about the speeches.
