European Chamber Representatives Made Presentations during the Nickel Institute China Chemical Regulatory Workshop 2019

On 17th Sept., European Chamber representatives Michelle ZHANG, Government Relations Manager, and Rachel RAPAPORT, Working Group Coordinator, made presentations in the China Chemical Regulatory Workshop 2019, organized by the Nickel Institute. The theme of the workshop was Chemical Risk Assessment and Management.

The Nickel Institute public policy manager first gave an introduction of the Nickel Institute. Then a senior engineer of the Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Centre of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment gave a presentation on New Regulatory Development for Chemicals Management in China. The senior engineer first gave an overview of the chemicals management situation in China. Then the engineer introduced a series government legislation that address chemicals management issues.

Senior manager of Regulatory Affairs at the Nickel Institute then made a presentation to explain the concept and application of Risk Management Option Analyses (RMOAs). The presentation was followed by standardization updates of chemical risk assessment for consumer products. Secretary–general of the National Technical Committee for the Standardization of Consumer Product Safety (SAC/TC508) presided over the updates.

European Chamber representatives Michelle ZHANG, Government Relations Manager, and Rachel RAPAPORT, Working Group Coordinator, each gave a presentation introducing the Environment Working Group and Petrochemicals, Chemicals and Refining Working Group, respectively. They also explained regulatory priorities for the working groups.
