Teambuilding - Kayaking in Suzhou Go back »

Thursday 27th October the European Chamber of Nanjing organized their annual teambuilding event.  This time, member and non-member companies had the opportunity to go kayaking in Suzhou. Suzhou is famed for its beautiful lakes, which has led to the popular saying上有天堂，下有苏杭 (above there is heaven; below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou) and indeed, together with its mild climate and fertile landscape it is no wonder that Suzhou is called 'paradise on earth'.

We departed from Nanjing at 8:15 in the morning and arrived at the kayaking site around 11:00. The group was not too big, 12 participants in total, which was perfect for the networking and teambuilding activities.

First everyone introduced themselves, and afterwards we had some small but fun teambuilding exercises divided in two groups.  At 12:00 the participants had a lakeside barbeque and some time to network.  

After lunch, we kayaked for one hour, and the people among us who were not tired yet could join a small kayaking competition. At around 16:00 in the afternoon we returned back to Nanjing.

 

Everyone who participated in this event confirmed that this was a wonderful opportunity to mingle with member and non-member companies in a relaxed atmosphere.
