European Chamber released this year’s Business Confidence Survey in June, which highlights an emerging contradiction: China’s increasingly sophisticated economy stands in stark contrast to its highly burdensome regulatory environment. In July, European Chamber published a new major report analysing the progress and shortcomings of China’s reform agenda since President Xi Jinping spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos in early 2017.
