Meeting with Chief Engineer of Jiangsu International Environmental Development Center

On July 16^th (Thursday), European Chamber Nanjing Chapter visited Jiangsu International Environmental Development Center. The main purpose of the visiting was to exchange information on events environmental related activitiesto one another. 

The EUCCC briefly introduced the forum of environmental conservation and CSR in this October. Mr. Cao mentioned a similar event hosted by the Department Environmental Protection of Jiangsu and the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province. It was started in 2012 as an expo and changed inform as seminar from 2013, which would allow supplying and requisitioning parties to find business opportunity easily. This is year, the governmental event will be held in the November.

For the forum of environmental conservation and CSR in the EUCCC, Mr. Cao suggested that the EUCCC could co-work with the Association of Jiangsu Environmental Protection Industry to involve Chinese companies, since it has around 800 members throughout the Jiangsu. Furthermore, the Publicity and Education Centre under Department of Environmental Protection of Jiangsu could be helpful both on inviting high-level government officials and involving Medias.  Meanwhile, the Publicity and Education Centre has close relationship with educational system in Jiangsu and extremely experienced on students' competitions at the provincial level. The Office of Science and Technology under the Department of Environmental Protection of Jiangsu had close relation ties with local experts and scholars on the related topics of the forum.

The two sides would closely concern the events on environmental conservation of each other’s in the future and look forward for the future cooperation.
