European Chamber President meets with Markus Beyrer, Director General at BusinessEurope

On 16th May, European Chamber President Jens Eskelund met with Markus Beyrer, Director General at BusinessEurope, and other representatives from the organisation.

President Eskelund provided an overview of the key findings of the Business Confidence Survey 2024. This included trends such as the increasing industry concern about China's economic slowdown, the experience of European businesses in China with excess supply and overcapacity, industry approaches to risk management and the decreasing attractiveness of China as a top investment market, among others. 

Both sides discusses evolving business attitudes towards the EU-China bilateral relationship, including regarding the efforts and measures by the EU to address imbalances, reduce dependencies, and guarantee reciprocity.
