European Chamber Shenyang Chapter Visits Benxi and Attends Government Talks

On November 1st, 2023, the European Chamber Shenyang Chapter, hereinafter referred to as the "Shenyang Chapter," was invited to visit Benxi and engage in discussions with the local government. Mr. Erich Kaiserseder, the Chair of Shenyang Chapter, and Mr. Liu Zheng, the Office Manager, responded to the invitation extended by the Liaoning and Benxi People's Associations for Friendship with Foreign Countries respectively and the Benxi Municipal People's Government.
Following visits to renowned companies in Benxi, including Liaoning Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Eisai (Liaoning) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Benxi Tool Limited Liability Company, high level meetings were held with key leaders of Benxi City, including Mr. Wu Lan, Secretary of the Benxi Municipal Committee of the CPC, Mr. Wu Shimin, Deputy Secretary of the Benxi Municipal Committee of the CPC and City Mayor, Mr. Chai Lijun, Vice Secretary of the Benxi Municipal Committee of CPC, Mr. Yang Zhimeng, Deputy Mayor, Mr. Sun Jun, Vice Chairman of the Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Fan Daming, Secretary-General of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and leaders from the Benxi City Development and Reform Commission, Commerce Bureau, Provincial Friendship Association, and Investment Promotion Center, among others. The meeting took place at the Fuhong International Hotel and were attended by representatives of foreign chambers of commerce and foreign-funded enterprises from Shenyang.
During the talks, Erich, on behalf of the member companies of Shenyang Chapter, expressed gratitude for the warm invitation from the Provincial and Municipal Friendship Association and the Benxi Municipal Government. He emphasized European Chamber’s mission to establish a normative communication bridge between government and international enterprises. He also provided an overview of the interactions and achievements between Shenyang Chapter, the provincial government, and relevant departments of Shenyang City since the beginning of this year. He appreciated the positive response from the provincial government regarding Shenyang Chapter's proposals for improving government procurement transparency, empowering green energy-related industries, and enhancing the overall attractiveness of Liaoning Province. Furthermore, Shenyang Chapter expressed its eagerness for increased interaction with local and foreign-funded enterprises and the government of Benxi, aiming to become a strong link in government-enterprise communication.
